The EAS document sets out the competence criteria contractors/businesses must be assessed on to be registered with a Certification or Registration Body. Or in other words, it is the industry agreed standard Certification Bodies, such as NICEIC and ELECSA, must follow when designing assessments.
The 2020 update raised standards, both in terms of assessing registered contractors and the required criteria new applicants must meet.
Resulting in changes to the way all Certification and Registration Bodies will operate, EAS 2020 will have implications for the industry and contractors.
As the UK’s leading certification body for the building services industry, NICEIC and ELECSA have created a webpage on the topic. Outlining the changes contractors will see, the page also houses a series of podcasts.
